Opening from On This Site - Native Long Island
Turtle (matcík)
A native woodland turtle opens a connection to Shinnecock teachings about land, the moon, and the importance of turtles. Turtles connect a living animal with Shinnecock teachings about land and cycles of time. Protecting woodland habitat helps keep those relationships visible to future generations.
