The Watermill Center

The Watermill Center is an arts residency, archive, and research library on Shinnecock ancestral territory. Jeremy Dennis developed On This Site there during a June 2017 residency, and Watermill has worked with Shinnecock artists, cultural workers, and staff including Shane Weeks, Andrina Smith, Denise Silva-Dennis, and Kelly Dennis. The Watermill Center connects On This Site's digital map to the residency where its book and exhibition took shape. It also documents sustained Shinnecock artistic labor, administration, education, and collaboration at an institution that identifies its campus as Shinnecock ancestral territory. The Watermill Center is an interdisciplinary arts and humanities laboratory at 39 Water Mill Towd Road, situated on ten acres of Shinnecock ancestral territory.
